Does anyone know of any all-you-can-eat-breakfast restaurants on the
North side of Houston?

Say 290 to 59 between 610 & Bwy-8 ?

About 10 years ago, there used to be a chain called, I believe,
"Champs." The location I usually patronized was on the SW corner of I-45
& 1960. There were several other locations though.

I think MY BIG appetite is what drove them bankrupt. <grin>

http://www.b4-u-eat.com/ might be able to help. You can enter up to 5
zip codes as part of the search criteria. And FWIW, I see those TV ads
for IHOP about an all you can eat pancake breakfast. I imagine that is
just a short term promotion.

Thanks for the reply, Yes.

Looks like IHOP is doing pancakes only, and, you're right, only for a
short term.

I'd really like to see a full service buffet that has a good range of
breakfast foods: Bacon, ham, eggs, bread, butter, etc., etc.

I tried b4-u-eat, but they don't really zero in on the type place I'm
looking for.

So back to square one.

I'll holler back if and when I find something suitable.

As an aside, Hampton Inn and Embassy Suites both give free breakfasts all
you can eat, but you either have to be a guest or pretend to be so, LOL!

It's not all you can eat, but Pappas' Dot Coffee Shop has a helluva good
breakfast, but it is on the other side of town from where you wanted to
dine.

Thanks, George,

Hmmm, one day when I feel like trying to be sneaky and get away with
something, I may just try snaking a free breakfast. I've never tried
to do anything like that before. But the Embassy and the Hampton have
gotten enough of my money in days gone by, after all, when I was on the
road. It'd be interesting to find out if I'd feel guilty doing it <grin>

I Google mapped the Dot Coffee shop and it's about 14 miles south of me,
so I wouldn't make a special trip there. But, I go to Galveston
frequently to visit family, so if I leave early one morning I'll
definitely be sure to check it out.

Think you'll like "The Dot". It's a Pappas joint BTW, Enjoy!

We have one of those restaurants here in Cleveland, it is called the
Plantation Inn. BTW, I am glad to see another ham radio operator, I am
N7BL. I wanted N5, but it was already taken.

Gee, Cleveland would be a pretty far haul from the Heights just for
breakfast. But I used to live not too far from you on 105 a while back,
so I know where you're talking about - next time I get up that way I'll
check it out.

Too bad you couldn't get the call you wanted - it seems they're running
out of the good ones. My own call was sequential, not vanity. I'm a
tee-totaler so it doesn't really fit, but I've kept it because it's a
good conversation opener.

I probably won't "see you on the radio" unless you're a CW hand as
that's the only mode I use. I hang out on the low ends of 80, 40 & 20
and sometimes on 30.
