I've posted in Houston Eats for years and the last time I looked, I was the highest number of posts in the group over the years. As I always enjoyed it, I keep coming back to check it out and frankly, it is dead. It has croaked.

I am offering two alternatives to those who still want to talk (un-moderated)about restaurants and food in Houston.

First, I started a Houston Eats Facebook page nearly three years ago. Anyone can post on it and everyone in the world may see it. I have never promoted it, so this is the first announcement about it. It has no posters and no visitors as of today! So, the URL for it is:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Houston-Eats/136074569788259

Secondly, I have a Facebook page called Culinary Houston which many of the old Houston Eats posters are visiting. All that is necessary to post in it is to "like" it. I post links on Culinary Houston of all blog articles and newspaper critic reviews also. While it only has something over 300 "likes", it has months where it gets over 25,000 "page views".

Its URL is:

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Houston-Eats/136074569788259

Have a fattening day.

Quantity, not quality, eh? Unfortunately, it's not a contest.

HAND,

ObOnTopic: Hughies Tavern, on 18th, just west of Ella. An old Dairy Queen turned Vietnamese (but they still have steak fingers and chicken strips). The kitchen is rocking. $4 Banh Mi, bun bowls, dancing beef, and lots of craft beers. But in a family-friendly, neighborhood place sort of way. Thumbs up - welcome to the Timberbrook area.
